Much of the music in this year’s festival was written in Vienna

Haydn, Beethoven, Schumann, Schubert, Richard Strauss all composed there and Ravel’s Schubert-inspired Valses Nobles et Sentimentales is all about the great city.

A hub of musical creativity without parallel!

Come and hear our handpicked team who are among the best string players in Europe

They will play a series of the greatest string sextets:

· Boccherini (the first string sextet written)

· Brahms’ glowing, ochre-coloured sextet in B flat

· Richard Strauss’s sextet embedded in his last opera Capriccio

· Tchaikovsky’s joyous recollection of his favourite place in the Souvenir de Florence.

Expect great chemistry!
